When does Lord of Mysteries release?

China: targeted within 2026; an App Store listing has pointed to November 1, 2026, but no official date is announced. Global: unannounced. Full details →

What platforms is it on?

PC, Android and iOS with cross-play. No Mac, no announced console versions.

Is it really an MMORPG, or a gacha action game?

A genuine MMORPG — the developers market it explicitly as one: shared open world, clubs, raids, world bosses, arena PvP, battle royale and faction warfare. Combat & modes →

Will there be a global/English version?

Expected but unconfirmed. SPARK NEXA already runs an official English site and English social channels (@LOTM_Game_EN), which strongly signals global plans. Nothing is dated.

Do I play as Klein?

No — you create an original character. Klein’s story runs as a parallel playable storyline with the Tarot Club cast. Beginner’s guide →

What pathways can I play?

Six confirmed so far: Seer, Spectator, Warrior, Mystery Pryer, Apprentice and Bard — each mapping to a novel pathway (Fool, Visionary, Twilight Giant, Hermit, Door, Sun). Pathway guides →

How does progression work without classes?

You advance along your pathway’s ten sequences by brewing potions from formulas and ingredients, then digesting them through the acting method — roleplaying your sequence’s identity. Full explanation →

Is the permadeath thing real?

Per official beta-era coverage, yes: if your sanity fully empties, your character loses control and dies permanently. It’s positioned as an avoidable horror-stakes mechanic, not a constant threat — and could still be tuned before launch. Sanity system →

Can I play solo?

Yes — the developers state the entire story is completable solo, with group content (raids, clubs, PvP) as optional layers. There’s also substantial non-combat life content: farming, gathering, performances, clubs and festivals.

How big is the download?

Beta builds wanted 80–90 GB free on PC. Mobile size is unannounced. System requirements →

What’s the monetization model?

Not formally announced. The Grey Fog Test enabled payments (standard for CN pre-launch tests evaluating monetization), and the game is free-to-download on mobile storefronts. CN coverage emphasizes the developers’ “no power-crush” competitive design, but concrete shop details await launch.

Do I need to read the novel first?

No, but it helps enormously — the game is dense with novel references, and the canonical storyline assumes interest in Klein’s journey. The 2025 anime is the fastest catch-up; our Novel Lore Wiki covers the rest.

Who is making it?

SPARK NEXA — Kuaishou Games’ in-house studio (弹指宇宙), led by producer Xu Jie, with 600+ developers and a reported ¥1B+ budget. It’s officially licensed from Yuewen/China Literature with the author involved in worldbuilding.
