Lord of Mysteries Blackthorn Casebook Answers: All 12 Launch Quiz Solutions
The Blackthorn Casebook asks 12 Chinese lore questions. Here are the correct answers in English, with the exact Chinese choices to select in game.
Lord of Mysteries has been live in China for three days, which is just enough time for its first proper exam to make players reach for a second screen. The Blackthorn Casebook, or 黑荆棘事件簿, asks 12 questions drawn from the novel’s churches, secret societies, Sealed Artifacts, pirate admirals and Beyonder Pathways.
The quiz skips MMO systems and asks whether you remember which angel joined which conspiracy several hundred chapters ago. English players must translate each question before they can solve the lore.
Chinese player 丘丘葱 posted the complete answer set on TapTap on August 23. We translated each question below and kept the exact Chinese answer beside it. If your game is running in Chinese, match the bold Chinese text on the answer button.

Take a screenshot of that list before opening the quiz. The short Chinese labels are safer than matching a machine translation because English editions do not always use the same spelling for organizations, titles and artifact names.
What the questions are testing
The first question gives away the game’s central progression idea. Beyonders digest potions safely through the Acting Method, or 扮演法, by behaving according to the principles of their current Sequence. The game builds class identity around that rule, so 扮演 is the important word to recognize.
Questions two and four move into the series’ crowded map of hidden organizations. Adam founded the Twilight Hermit Order, or 黄昏隐士会. The Imaginary Angel, or 空想天使, is the choice that was not a member of Rose Redemption, or 救赎蔷薇.
The third and ninth questions concern Sealed Artifacts. Select 安静发丝 for the object without a living characteristic. Select 疯狂的铠甲 when the quiz asks which object is not Grade 0. Question nine asks for the exception.
The pirate question also uses an exception. Choose 飓风中将, Hurricane Lieutenant, for the great pirate who has always been male.
Questions six and ten cover orthodox religion. 蒸汽与机械 identifies the Church of Steam and Machinery in the Loen Kingdom. 风暴之主 is the Lord of Storms, one of the orthodox gods in the Fifth Epoch.
The remaining questions sit closer to the main power system. The Fool can enter above the gray fog. The Black Emperor belongs to the Lawyer Pathway. Sequence 0 of the Spectator Pathway is Visionary. The Trunsoest Brass Book belongs to the Arbiter Pathway.

Chinese terms worth keeping on your phone

These labels also appear outside the quiz. 途径 and 序列 are two of the most useful words in the Chinese client because they identify Pathway and Sequence progression. 封印物 is the label to watch for when a quest, inventory item or lore page refers to a Sealed Artifact.
The quiz rewards readers, then catches them on translation
The Blackthorn Casebook assumes the player knows the source material and uses that knowledge as part of role-playing a new Blackthorn Security Company recruit.
That structure creates a second test for English players in the China-only release. A fan who knows the answer is “Visionary” can still miss it if 空想家 is not familiar. A translation overlay can solve the sentence, but proper nouns remain a trap when the novel, fan wiki and game use different English terms.
For this event, use the Chinese labels above as the final authority. They match the launch guide images and remove that last translation step.
