Lord of Mysteries' 6v6 Tournament Can Start at 3v6. The Roster Has No Bench
A Chinese player report says Peak of the Gods locks six registered names and offers no substitutes or AI fill. Three game screenshots show what happens when only half a team enters.
Lord of Mysteries calls Peak of the Gods a 6v6 tournament. One Chinese player’s screenshots show the mode preparing a round with 3/6 players on the team panel and a seven-second countdown already running.
The player says the problem begins at registration. A team submits six names, the game locks those names for the tournament, and there is no substitute bench. If one player cannot attend or disconnects, the team cannot replace them. The report also says the match does not add an AI player.
That rule turns attendance into part of the result. A club can prepare roles and builds, then enter at a numbers disadvantage because one registered player had a connection problem or missed the start time.
The screenshots show a three-player team in a 6v6 bracket
The clearest screenshot was taken inside a 小组赛, or group-stage match. The upper centre of the screen shows a 2-2 round score. The team panel at the left reads 3/6 and lists three active characters. Across the arena, the opposing side has six Pathway icons in its team bar.
The game is already displaying 战斗开始倒计时 7秒, meaning “Battle starts in 7 seconds.” There is no visible pause for another player to connect and no empty slot filled by an AI character.
The screenshot cannot identify why the other three players are missing. The seven-second countdown and 3/6 team panel show the group stage continuing with only half the slots filled.

The third screenshot shows the same 3/6 team panel during combat. Three friendly health bars appear at the left while several enemy names and effects gather near the centre of the arena. Two allied characters are down near the edge of the central platform.
This is the practical cost of the roster rule. A short team does not receive a smaller opponent, more lives or a visible balance adjustment. The remaining players have fewer bodies for damage, control, healing, objectives and revives.
Six registered names means six points of failure
The TapTap report describes the registration system in direct terms. 战队报名锁死6人,全程不能换人, which means “Team registration locks six players, and players cannot be changed during the tournament.”
The author says there is 没有任何替补席位, or “no substitute position.” A temporary conflict, absence or disconnect leaves the team short. The post asks for a roster cap of 10, with four reserve players, or a waiting-area system that lets an incomplete team fill its open places before the match.
Those suggestions would keep the match format at 6v6. They would change the number of people a club can register and choose from before each round.
The current rule rewards a team that can guarantee attendance across the full tournament window. It punishes clubs that recruit exactly six players and assume every connection will remain stable. English players entering from outside China face an added risk because higher latency and regional routing can make a disconnect more likely.
The result screen records the short team

The second image is a victory screen from 小组赛第5轮, Group Stage Round 5. It records a 1-0 round result. The blue side has three listed players and reports 存活人数:3, or “Surviving players: 3.” The red side reports zero survivors.
The blue team won that round with its visible three-player lineup. An incomplete team can still win, depending on the opposition and the round, but it enters with fewer available roles and lives.
The table also gives English players the main combat labels:
| Chinese label | English meaning |
|---|---|
| 玩家名称 | Player name |
| 击败 | Defeats |
| 伤害 | Damage dealt |
| 承伤 | Damage taken |
| 治疗 | Healing |
| 消散 | Dispels |
| 存活人数 | Surviving players |
| 总击败 | Total defeats |
| 总伤害值 | Total damage |
| 个人数据 | Individual stats |
Peak of the Gods records and resolves rounds with fewer than six visible team members. The claim that registered players cannot be replaced comes from the player’s written report.
Build the team before registration
An earlier Chinese launch-week guide advised players to register for 众神之巅, Peak of the Gods, at 12:00 and finish forming a club team before 20:30. Those times came from the August 24 schedule and can change, so check the current event panel before using them.
The guide recommends a Warrior on the front line, an Apprentice circling behind the enemy to pressure healers, and a Seer controlling space. It also warns players not to charge alone and tells the group to follow the caller when taking objectives.
That plan needs six available players. Before anyone presses the registration button, the club should confirm:
- All six players can attend the full listed window.
- Each player has the correct server, character and club membership.
- The team has a direct voice or text channel outside the match.
- Every player has restarted the client and checked their connection.
- The group has assigned front-line, healing, control and target-calling duties.
Do not use a registration place for someone who may arrive after the first round. The report says the team cannot swap that player once the roster is locked.
What to do when the team is already short
The screenshots show that the tournament can continue at 3/6. A short team should stop trying to play a normal 6v6 formation.
Keep the remaining players close enough to trade damage and protect a healer. Focus one enemy instead of spreading damage across the full opposition. Use narrow entrances and the central platform edge to reduce the number of enemies who can attack at once. A player who dies alone removes one third of a three-person lineup.
The scoreboard includes damage taken, healing and dispels because survival work matters in this mode. A short team needs control and recovery more than a wide flank. If the group still has a Warrior, use that character to hold the first contact. If it still has an Apprentice, wait for the front line to engage before moving behind the enemy.
The best fix happens before the bracket starts. Confirm all six players, enter together and treat the registration screen as a final roster lock. If the event panel later adds a bench or replacement option, look for labels such as 替补, substitute, 候补, reserve, or 更换成员, change member.
Peak of the Gods is part of the wider PvP schedule introduced with the level 56 update. Read our August 24 mode breakdown for the other unlocked activities and the combat and PvP guide for the game’s arena formats.
Until the roster rules change, the safe registration plan is strict. Submit six names only after all six players confirm the full tournament window.
