Lord of Mysteries is preparing to take players to Backlund (贝克兰德) in Season 2. In its October 22 developer update, the team describes a city several times the area of Tingen, with new main quests, stories from the novel, side quests and city-life tasks planned alongside it. The post gives no Season 2 launch date.

Two months after the Chinese MMO’s August 21 public launch, the developer has set out plans for new quests, combat systems and leisure activities. Backlund has a season attached to it. Several other proposals, including a new Pathway and a thousand-player battle royale, remain plans without a release window in this post.

Backlund gets a season, the new Pathway gets no date

The developer says Backlund will have a more complex city layout and more events across its districts. It also wants activities that draw players into the city’s conflicts. There is no quest count or measured map size in the announcement, so the comparison with Tingen remains the team’s description of its planned scale.

A mentor system (师徒系统) is also scheduled for Season 2. The stated aim is to give new players someone to guide them and answer questions when they reach Tingen. Before that, version 1.4 is due to introduce a card-table activity. Cross-server management competitions and new modes for existing leisure activities are also in development, although the post does not assign them dates.

For players waiting to change class, the team says it is working on a new Pathway’s combat role. Pathway switching (途径转换), later advancement and the transfer of cosmetic and progression systems are still being discussed and designed. The developer says it intends to preserve players’ progression and expenditure, and allow them to switch back to their original Pathway. It has not published the switching rules or costs here.

The same update outlines the direction of Sequence 6 (序列6) abilities. Warriors should gain stronger tools to start fights and hold enemies in place. Spectators should become more flexible at healing, survival and support. Apprentices will build on spatial abilities, movement and burst damage. Bards are due more team support, Seers more group-combat strength, and Mystery Pryers more casting options across their talents. These are design aims, with no skill values or complete ability lists attached.

More dungeons, and less late-night ranking pressure

The PVE list includes new team dungeons, raids, a climbing challenge, club speed-run content and Brass Book challenges. The team also plans recurring challenges and more roguelike content built around builds, routes and random changes. It says future difficult-dungeon honors should match the standing of PVP honors, with further details to follow.

There is a more specific change for players in End Hunt (终末猎杀). The developer plans a daily safe period from 02:00 to 12:00, during which players cannot attack each other. Kills from Monday through Thursday will no longer count toward the ranking. The post frames both changes as relief from sustained fighting and ranking pressure, but gives no implementation date in that section.

For club leaders planning the next event, the previously announced November 12 strategic-server round remains a separate dated announcement. The new roadmap’s larger strategic-server scenarios, spectator tools and thousand-player battle royale have no dates attached yet.
